London – the end.

Phone BoothsI’m already back from London for a over a week now, but somehow I haven’t been able to post anything yet. I promised I would get back on my last week in London, so here it goes…

During the few weekends I was there I’ve been doing quite some exploring together with friends. I’ve seen and did way too much to write about it all, so I will just pick some things I would recommend others to go see or do.

DaliMuseum: Tate Modern, no doubt. Although I haven’t seen it all, there were great exhibitions at the moment (one of Dali, who I love). The building is huge, so you could easily spend an afternoon there. They have some great cafes in there too with a nice view on the Millennium Bridge and St. Paul’s Cathedral.

Shopping: Brick Lane (for the more creative shoppers), Abercrombie & Fitch (cool store and hot half naked guys working there, haha), Paul Smith (great sale shop on Avery Row, but the ones in Notting Hill are beautiful), Topshop (you can get lost in there) and Harvey Nichols (they have all a girl wants).Greenwich Park

To See: besides all the standard touristy things, Postman’s Park (tiles from around 1900 paying a tribute to heroes who died while trying to save others), Greenwich Park (great tea house on the hill, and of course the Meridian Line), Canary Wharf (second bank district, take the DLR there) and the Swiss Re building (great architecture).

To Eat & Drink: Pret a Manger (everywhere, love everything about it), Japan Centre (not fancy but great and cheap sushi, go downstairs), Carluccio’sPizza Express (you’ll find it everywhere, it’s a pizza place but it’s a good one), Carluccio’s (again all over town, really nice Italian food and coffees), Smiths of Smithfield (great brunch place, several floors).

I wish I had more time to discover all other great places in London, so I will be back soon!
